Refugees and Forced Immigrants

Tanzania is a member state to Africa’s Great Lakes Region, a region affected by population displacements due political violence and conflicts in her neighboring countries. Tanzania is a sanctuary to three major Refugee Camps with majority of Burundian and Congolese nationalities. CCC advocate protecting people in humanitarian crises with humanitarian action responses as where needed most. Kigoma in Western Tanzania is a home to majority asylum seekers, stateless and refugees residing in Nyarugusu, Mtendeli and Nduta Refugee Camps. Population of concern face critical challenge to meet their practical protection needs including water, sanitation, hygiene, shelter, medical supplies, livelihoods support, clothing, food and nonfood items needs etc. Persons of concern in Tanzania are considered underserved ones –living on less $2/day due to UNHCR’s budgetary constraint.  Supporting population of concern in Tanzania makes significant impact on their lives. Infographic for persons of concern is shared below.
